Who can take part in the contest?The TARGION INTARGIA science prize is a doctorate grant for post-graduates at German scientific universities. Theses can be submitted on all aspects of business information science, information technology, business studies, engineering and information management/IT management/IT project management. Candidates must verify that the thesis was submitted to a German scientific university between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2004 and awarded the grade "summa cum laude" or "magna cum laude". 2. What exactly are the subject requirements?The range of possible subjects is relatively broad within the disciplines stated above. The thesis should make a significant contribution to the use of future-oriented information and communication technology in business and public administration, revealing a balanced integration of first-rate theoretical/conceptual basic groundwork with innovative practical relevance. The featured issue is also expected to be highly topical. 3. Which deadlines apply?The submission period is from 1 August 2004 to 31 December 2004. 31 December 2004 is the absolute final deadline. Theses submitted after this date cannot be taken into consideration. The postmark indicates the date. The jury then deliberates on the submissions between 1 January 2005 and 30 March 2005. The prize will be awarded in April 2005, the exact date will be announced presently. 4. Is INTARGIA's TARGION science prize being awarded just this once in 2005?The TARGION prize will be awarded every 3 years in future. 5. Who is on the jury?The members of the jury are
6. Does every candidate receive an appraisal of the submitted thesis from the jury?No, an appraisal is only planned for the winner on being awarded the prize. 7. What is the procedure when several theses reach the same standard of quality?INTARGIA GmbH reserves the right to split the prize in exceptional circumstances. 8. How does the winner receive the prize money?Prerequisite for receiving the prize money is the willingness of the winner to give a detailed presentation of the winning thesis at the award ceremony and to discuss it with those present at the event. Corresponding travelling costs will be paid by INTARGIA GmbH. The event is organized by INTARGIA GmbH. It will be attended by guests invited from business, science and public administration.
